No doctor on this earth can provide you with perfect health unless you yourself are willing to live healthy’ - Charaka, author of Charaka Samhita

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a healing art that is thousands of years old; it is the health system of the ancient Indian Vedic civilization and is considered the oldest health system in the world.
Ayurveda is recognized by the WHO as a traditional medicine. The holistic health doctrine of Ayurveda treats life in its entirety and combines physical, psychological, mental and spiritual aspects with the aim of bringing body, mind and soul into balance and thus primarily preventing and – if necessary – curing diseases.
It provides a guideline for physical and mental wellbeing by empowering people with the knowledge and tools they need to maintain a positive state of health on a daily basis.
Ayurveda is best seen today as a complement to Western medicine, not a replacement.
The below three points summarize Ayurveda’s approach to the human body and it’s wellbeing

Holistic

Ayurveda is a holistic medicine that treats your body as a whole rather than focusing on it’e different parts. Literature suggests that when on part of the body ails, this is usually a symptom of a larger problem manifested throughout different parts of the body. Hence Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment cover the body in its entirety, rather than addressing specific parts of it. The guiding principle is harmony-the different parts of one’s body should function well together as a system in order for one’s health and wellbeing to thrive at all times.

Preventative

Ayurveda follows a holistic preventative approach that aims to solve the root cause of a problem rather than its symptoms. All therapies and treatments strive to improve the body’s strength and immunity, thus preventing disease from gaining a foothold in the system as soon as it arises.

Longevity

Ayurveda’s methods are 100% natural and emphasize healing, rejuvenation and purification therapies. It is more than a mere healing system; it is the science and art of appropriate living that helps to achieve longevity. It can guide you in the proper choice of diet, living habits and exercise to restore balance in the body, mind and consciousness, thus maintaining your body’s self-healing state of wellbeing.

Cleansing Programme

The miracle of the human body with its natural healing intelligence is capable of constantly renewing and rejuvenating itself. However when imbalance and weakened digestive capacity allow toxic impurities to form, this natural ability of the body is blocked. Cleansing eliminates accumulated toxins from the body, improves metabolic rate and digestive fire and brings balance to the doshas (the energetic principles of the body and mind). This powerful therapy will leave your body younger, stronger and free from chronic ailments and your mind calm, stress-free and relaxed. The treatments are designed to meet individual needs with personal check-ups from our Ayurvedic practitioner. Dietary, medicinal and massage requirements are modified as required. As each individual is unique, treatments are personalised using herbal medicines and oils to restore harmony and vitality.
